  • Research potential solutions by inferring, extracting, and corroborating customer needs from a variety of methods and customers

      • External: users (and/ or user representatives)

 

Exit gate: Design begins creating and exploring low-fidelity mockups

Creation and Iteration

  • Beginning with low-fidelity mockups, the design creates rapid prototypes to validate design concepts

  • Review design(s) with Product Manager

  • Share design with larger Product Management team and, when appropriate, other stakeholders:

    • Internal: Leadership, Engineering teams

    • External: users,  (and/ or user representatives)

Exit gate: As the design solution is agreed upon with PM, design produces high-fidelity pixel perfect design

Final Approval of Designs

  • High-fidelity pixel perfect design is finished

  • Final check against requirements with Product Management

  • Designer updates user stories with design links/ image assets

 

Exit gate: Final designs presented to Engineering for approval and development

Post-development

  • QA test new features to ensure desired behavior and design integrity

  • Maintain close, proactive communication with other departments, including marketing, sales, customer services, account management

  • Regularly audit the app for opportunities to improve ease of use

  • Identify any interruptions in a customer’s ideal workflow 

  • Regularly interview users and incorporate feedback into the roadmap
